DNV 2.7-1 Certification of Conformity Guide
Upon completion of most of our DNV containers you will receive a full pack containing your certificate of conformity to the standard specified during the build process. Some examples of items that may be included in your certificate of conformity include:
- The container fabrication number
- The description of your container
- The offshore containers external dimensions
- The number of lifting points
- The month and year of fabrication of your offshore container
- The mass gross in kgs of your offshore container
- The tare mass in kgs of your offshore container
- The payload in kgs of your offshore container
- The As built dossier number
- The total gross mass of your container
- The actual method of test will be specified as will the angle of lifting set
- The shackle bolt diameter will be specified
- It will explain the conformity to other requirements and codes of your offshore container
- It will specify whom the container was designed, fabricated and tested by and in accordance with which standard and to which approved drawings and design calculations.
Certificate of Test, Examination and Inspection Report
You will also receive in moth instances a certificate of test, examination and inspection report which will usually define the following:
- The client for whom the container was tested for
- The testing location
- The test certificate number and inspection date
- The serial numbers, quantities descriptions and safe working load and payload of each individual offshore container tested on the certificate
- The procedure, specification, material, equipment type, media, indicator, method, inspector and inspectors qualifications involved in the process of lift testing your container.
- The results of the test and a declaration confirming that the offshore equipment has been tested and thoroughly examined in accordance with the appropriate provisions and is free from defects affecting safety.
DNV Container Paint Report
A paint report will usually be provided detailing the following:
- The report number, customer and job number.
- A specification of the coating and a description of the items tested and their serial numbers
- A breakdown of the preparation of coating including its profile and abrasive type.
- Results of a salt test if required
- Information on environmental conditions and coatings
DNV Container Lifting Equipment Report
A report of a thorough examination of lifting equipment including proof of test details will often be included which provides:
A certificate for DNV offshore container lifting slings will be provided including:
- Confirmation of whom the test was carried out for and by whom
- The date of the report, the works number and the report number
- Any container identification marks, the quantity of units, the equipment descriptions and how it was tested at what safe working load and on what date.
- Any defects will be highlighted.
- A declaration of conformity/manufacturers certificate will also be provided.
A certificate for DNV offshore container lifting slings will be provided including:
- The client and certificate number.
- The manufacturer of the slings and their details along with the DNV type approval number.
- The working load limit, angle of legs, diameter of sling legs and length of legs are shown.
- A full description of the slings and their identification marks or numbers will be provided.
- The grade of wire and test report number is supplied.
- A brief description of the test types will be provided and confirmation of conformity will be given.
