Bulk DNV Container Delivery To The Port Of Felixstowe

This week a customer enquired about transportation of their containers, they required 7 x 20ft DNV Offshore containers, and delivery to The Port of Felixstowe.
"We're about to order 7 x 20ft DNV containers from you to be delivered to The Port of Felixstowe, and I'm worried about the transport. Firstly, will you deliver them for us and if so how, and what will happen when they get to the port?"
Good afternoon, we should have no problem carting 7 x 20ft DNV containers as long as there are no site restrictions. Site restrictions can be such things as a narrow lane, a gate, low telephone cables, and grass. However if you feel there might be something restricting access, it doesn’t mean we’ll immediately give up on you! We will generally look at Google maps at your site to see the general area, depending on what the problem is we may ask for dimensions and/or photos of the area. If there are still concerns afterwards, we can provide a site visit where one of our drivers will inspect the area.

Containers are generally delivered in no more than stacks of 2. We would be looking at 1 x 20ft on a single rigid HIAB then providing the access is suitable, have the remaining 6 containers travel close behind on 3 x artic flatbed / skellies.  The HIAB can then off-load the containers from the artic Lorries, thus reducing the cost on transport as we would only be paying for 1 crane.

Once the driver carrying the containers arrives at the port, they will then enquire with the customer as to what position they want the containers, and try to manoeuvre it into place as best they can. As we do not arrange shipping of containers the obvious off-load point is the Port of Felixstowe, for customer to arrange shipment themselves.

Hopefully this helps out our customer and will answer a few questions that anyone reading this may have.
